The 15% drama student discount, explained
The 15% drama student discount, explained
15% off any session for current drama students and recent graduates. That makes a 30-minute single-monologue session £165.75 and a one-hour three-monologue session £250.75. A student card, an offer letter or an email from your course is all the proof we need.
The discount is simple and there is no small print, so this is a short one.
What it costs
| Session | Standard | With the discount | You save |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 minutes, one monologue | £195 | £165.75 | £29.25 |
| 1 hour, up to three monologues | £295 | £250.75 | £44.25 |
Everything included in the standard session is included in the discounted one. Direction, lighting per piece, sound, edit, colour grade, one round of revisions and delivery files — the full list is on sessions and pricing.
Who qualifies
Current students on any drama or performance course. And recent graduates.
We deliberately do not define "recent" to the month. If you have just finished, you qualify. Nobody has ever been argued out of it and we are not trying to catch anyone.
It applies UK-wide — not only to Manchester courses. Actors travel in from across the country and the rate is the same wherever you study. Journey times are on where we film.
What proof we need
- A student card, or
- An offer or acceptance letter, or
- An email from your course or department, or
- A screenshot of your student portal
One of those, once, when you book. That is it.
Which session to take
If you are local and cash is tight, the 30-minute session at £165.75 gets one strong piece filmed and gets you submittable.
If you are travelling any distance, take the hour. The travel costs the same either way and £85 more turns one piece into three — the reasoning is in how many monologues to film.
Book with your year group
This is the thing most students do not think of.
Consecutive slots on one day means one journey shared, one booking conversation, and a much less lonely morning. It is easier for us to schedule too.
Four or five of you from the same course is a completely normal booking. Tell us numbers on the contact form.
Timing it
The months either side of your showcase are the window — your pieces are rehearsed and agents are deciding. Full sequencing in the graduate checklist and the six months after.
Showcase season is our busiest period, so book earlier than feels necessary. Turnaround is covered in what 5-10 working days really means.
What to bring
Two or three prepared pieces, wardrobe in plain mid-tones, and your course proof. Detail in what to wear and the 7-day plan.
If you are not sure what to film, send a shortlist — see choosing a monologue, or read what a session actually involves on monologue showreels.
Everything about the student offer sits on the drama students page. Watch the standard on the gallery, then call 0161 706 3220.
What the discount does not change
Worth being explicit, because "student rate" sometimes means a cut-down version elsewhere.
It is the same studio, the same director, the same camera and lighting package and the same colour grade. Same 5–10 working day turnaround, same delivery files, same one round of revisions. The only difference is the number on the invoice.
We are not running a separate student tier with less in it. There would be no point — a reel that is not good enough to send is not cheaper, it is wasted.
Why we do it
Because graduates are the people who most need a reel and least have the money for one, and because the gap between finishing training and getting seen is where a lot of good actors quietly give up.
That is the whole reasoning. There is more on that period in the six months after your showcase.
If money is still the problem
Say so. A 30-minute session at £165.75 gets one strong piece filmed and gets you submittable, and you can add pieces later — the trade-off is set out in how many monologues to film.
And if the honest answer is that now is not the moment, we will tell you that too rather than take a booking you cannot afford. See do you need a showreel for when waiting is the right call.
The short version
- 15% off either session. £165.75 for one piece, £250.75 for three.
- Recent graduates count, not only enrolled students.
- Any course proof works. We are not going to interrogate you.
- It applies to any drama or performance course, anywhere in the UK.
- Group bookings on one day make the travel cheaper again.
Frequently asked questions
Who qualifies for the student discount?
Current students on any drama or performance course, and recent graduates. We do not draw a hard line at a particular number of months — if you have just finished, you qualify. It applies UK-wide, not just to Manchester courses.
What proof do you need?
A student card, an offer letter, a course email, or a screenshot of your student portal. One of those, once. Nobody has ever been asked for documentation twice and we are not trying to catch anyone out.
Does it apply to the add-ons?
The discount applies to the session itself. The promo edit at £49.99 and the stills at £14.99 are already priced low enough that we keep them flat, and you can decline both without it being awkward.
Can a group of us book together?
Yes, and it is the sensible way to do it from out of town. Consecutive slots on one day are easier for us to schedule and much cheaper for you to travel to. Tell us numbers when you enquire.
Is there a catch or an expiry?
No. It is a straightforward percentage off, applied when you book. There is no minimum session, no expiry date and no requirement to book within a window of graduating.
