The trans-Pennine routes make Yorkshire one of the easiest regions to film from. Leeds, Sheffield and Huddersfield are all around an hour or less.
Yorkshire actors reach the Actors Reels studio in Manchester quickly on the trans-Pennine routes: Huddersfield around 40 minutes, Leeds and Bradford about an hour, Sheffield an hour over the Hope Valley, York an hour and 20. Sessions start at £195.
The trans-Pennine routes make Yorkshire one of the easiest regions in the country to film from. Huddersfield is 40 minutes. Leeds, Bradford and Sheffield are all about an hour. For most of the region this is a half-day, not an undertaking.
It is also a region with a serious and growing screen sector — Channel 4 in Leeds, Bradford's UNESCO City of Film status, the documentary industry around Sheffield — and very little that exists purely to film actors' monologues. The work is here; the studios are not.
If you are travelling from Hull, the picture changes: two and a quarter hours with a change makes the one-hour session the only sensible booking. Everywhere else in Yorkshire, either session works comfortably inside a day.
Around 50 minutes to the studio. Direct on TransPennine, several services an hour.
Around 1 hour to the studio. Over the Hope Valley line — one of the more scenic commutes in the country.
Around 1 hour 20 minutes to the studio. Direct on TransPennine via Leeds.
Around 1 hour to the studio. Direct from Bradford Interchange, or via Leeds from Forster Square.
Around 40 minutes to the studio. Direct on the TransPennine route — one of the quickest Yorkshire runs.
Around 2 hours 15 minutes to the studio. Via Leeds or Doncaster — one change on most services.

Huddersfield at around 40 minutes, then Leeds, Bradford and Sheffield at roughly an hour. Sheffield comes over the Hope Valley line rather than the main trans-Pennine route, which is slower on paper and considerably nicer.
Not of this kind. There are excellent crews and hire spaces, but a permanent blacked-out set with a fixed camera package and a director who works on it weekly is a different proposition from booking a room and a freelancer.
