Our home region. Most of these cities are inside an hour of the studio door, and a session plus travel fits comfortably into half a day.
North West actors film at the Actors Reels studio in central Manchester, which for most of the region is inside an hour. Stockport is around 10 minutes, Bolton 20, Warrington 30, Liverpool 35 to 50 and Blackpool an hour and a quarter. Sessions start at £195.
This is the region we actually live in, and it shows in the travel: almost every city on this page is inside an hour of the studio door, and several are inside twenty minutes. There is no logistics problem to solve here.
What there is instead is a density problem. Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Lancashire between them hold an enormous number of trained actors competing for the same regional casting — MediaCity, the touring circuit, the continuing dramas. Being local gets you on the list. The reel decides whether you get read.
Because the journeys are short, North West actors have an option nobody else does: split the work. Film one monologue now for a submission you need this week, come back for two more when you have prepared them. Most people still take the hour in one go, but the door is open.

Around 30 minutes to the studio. Direct from Bank Quay or Central — one of the shortest runs on this list.
Around 20 minutes to the studio. Direct into Manchester Victoria or Piccadilly, every few minutes.
Around 10 minutes to the studio. Direct into Piccadilly, several trains an hour.
Around 25 minutes to the studio. Direct from Wigan North Western or Wallgate.
Around 10 minutes to the studio. Tram or train from MediaCityUK, Salford Central or Crescent.
Around 40 minutes to the studio. Metrolink into the city centre and on to Deansgate-Castlefield.

It can be, and being close is the one situation where it genuinely makes sense — you can always come back. That said, three contrasting pieces do far more for a reel than one, so most local actors still book the hour.
