North Wales is closer to Manchester than to Cardiff. For the south, this is a long day — worth it for a three-monologue session, rarely for one.
North Wales actors are around an hour and 45 minutes from the Actors Reels studio on the direct coast line — closer to Manchester than to Cardiff. From South Wales it is three to four hours, so we recommend the one-hour session at £295 for three monologues.
Wales splits cleanly in two for this. North Wales is genuinely close — the coast line runs direct into Manchester in under two hours, and for actors in Llandudno, Colwyn Bay, Rhyl, Bangor or Wrexham we are the nearest studio of this kind by a wide margin.
South Wales is a different proposition. Cardiff is three and a quarter hours and Swansea four, and Cardiff has more drama production on its doorstep than anywhere in the UK outside London. If your local options are working, use them.
Where the trip south-to-north does make sense is differentiation: a dominant local pipeline produces reels that resemble each other, and casting directors watching a stack of them notice. We would rather explain that than sell you a train ticket you do not need.
