Actor Reels was founded in Manchester by a team with deep roots in both the film industry and the performing arts world. We'd spent years watching talented actors held back not by their abilities, but by the quality of how they presented themselves on screen.

We saw actors with genuine talent losing opportunities to actors with lesser abilities but better showreels. We saw casting directors making decisions in the first fifteen seconds — before the best material even played. We saw actors investing in reels that failed them at the critical moment.

We started Actor Reels to change that equation. Our team brings film production expertise — proper cinematography, real direction, post-production that meets broadcast standards — to every showreel we make. We approach each project with the same rigour we'd bring to a professional television production.

Manchester was the natural home. As the UK's second city for screen production, home to MediaCityUK, the BBC's northern headquarters, and ITV Studios, we are part of a genuine production ecosystem. Our actors benefit from being close to the industry they're trying to work in.
